Posting in Absentia

I was given a sentence for my DUI that has a release date of May 2008. I can't get to a computer, so someone else is typing this for me. I'm about broke, all I have is $12 in my account.

The idea here is to try to monetize this blog and have some money when I get out of jail. Maybe to even give me some spending money while I am in jail.

Hello, I'm Nancy. I'm an alchoholic

Welcome to my blog. I'm Nancy, and I'm an alchoholic. While I do go to AA, I'm probably either in an inpatient treatment program for my additiction, or in jail for my DUI. I've not been to sentencing in court, but since this is my third DUI, it does not bode well for me.

People ask me why I drink. I drink because I am an alchoholic. I drink because my body craves alchohol on a cellular level. I get drunk because I pick up a beer. To not get drunk, all I have to do is not pick up a beer. I don't drink because of you. It's not your fault.

I have a disease; like as if I had measles. People with measles get red bumps. Parents, friends, and associates don't cause the red bumps. Measles causes the red bumps. Alchoholics drink because alchoholism causes them to drink.

First Post

I've just created this web page blog site. I'll have to start adding content to it soon.

I've never created a web site before, and I've never blogged before. This is all new to me. I'm not sure what I want out of this. Maybe it is therapy, like a diary. Maybe my story will help someone else. Maybe it is by talking about my problems that I find relief from the demons that hound me.

Nancy Over The Rainbow is about how my life is, as M. Scott Peck would say, hard. Life is hard. Hopefully by accepting this basic truth I can learn to be sober. My hope... my dream... my belief is that somewhere over the rainbow skies will be blue. Life can not always be this miserable. Let me find that magic land that exists, over the rainbow.
